Groundwork Grassroots Grants
Unrestricted grants of between £500 and £2,000 can be accessed by voluntary or community organisations, including registered charities/companies, whose annual turnover is no more than £25,000.
‘We're looking to support organisations that are making a positive difference in their local communities, particularly those working with vulnerable people. They will need to be delivering work in at least one of the following areas:
- Enabling participation in the arts
- Improving green spaces and increasing access to the outdoors
- Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty
- Providing support to improve mental health
- Supporting marginalised groups and/or tackling inequality’

The MSE Charity
The MSE Charity supports the delivery of projects that help people improve their financial capability—both now and in the future. ‘We fund practical, targeted activities that empower people to better manage their money and make informed financial decisions’. The maximum grant request is £10,000.
Stage 1 (Outline Proposal) is open from Monday 6 July and will close on Monday 13 July.

The Green Community Grants Programme
This programme ‘offers one-year flexible funding for not-for-profit groups in England, Scotland and Wales with an annual income between £10,000 and £1 million. Grants of up to £25,000 are available. Organisations must have been operating for a minimum of 12 months and your organisation's main aims and objectives must fit with one of the two funding themes:
- Contributing to nature recovery and responding to the climate emergency
- Improving nature-rich spaces and access to them
Whilst your organisational objects or purpose should fit one of these two themes, funding can also be used for a wider range of sustainable activities, including recycling, litter picking, beach cleans or sustainable transport.’

The Social Investment Gateway Programme
'The Social Investment Gateway Programme is a free 12-month support programme for charities, social enterprises and community organisations that want to strengthen trading and move nearer to investment readiness. You’ll get practical support to grow your trading activity, strengthen your organisation and prepare to apply for and manage social investment with confidence. You may also receive a Match Trading™ grant of up to £18,000 or a repayable grant of up to £24,000 to help you invest in your organisation, support your growth and reward trading success. The programme is led by the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), a national charity supporting social leaders and community organisations to grow their impact through learning, funding and support. It is supported by Access – The Foundation for Social Investment.

Anglian Water’s Thriving Communities Fund
This environmental and social fund offers grants between £5,000 and £100,000 to support projects across the Anglian Water region that enhance the natural water environment and deliver associated community benefits. Applications are sought from non-profit organisations in the Anglian Water region with a track record of successful delivery. They must demonstrate how a project will benefit both the natural water environment (e.g. natural habitat, biodiversity, water quality) and the people living in the Anglian Water region, as well as how that change will be measured.'

South Midlands Capital Growth Grant
‘The South Midlands Capital Growth Grant has returned, welcoming Expressions of Interest from businesses who’d like grant funding to help fuel their growth. The grants are focussed on supporting businesses to invest in innovation, adopt new technologies and unlock new opportunities within their organisation.’
Charities and social enterprises are welcome to apply, even if the grant would contribute to a project that would not generate any revenue. However, they would need to be able to demonstrate an indirect economic benefit, and creation of jobs would qualify under growth. £5,000 to £25,000 funding available (capital funding only). This is a 50% matched-funded grant. Organisations must be based in the South Midlands (North Northamptonshire, West Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes City, Luton, Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire).

History in the Making
This grant (from Historic England) enables underrepresented young people (aged 13-25) to discover, engage, and connect with their local stories and ensure the history that matters to them is not forgotten. Using different art forms, from artworks and murals to immersive walking trails and theatre productions, young people decide who and what to celebrate and how best to do it.
Grants of up to £15,000 are available. Successful applicants will work directly with young people out-of-school hours in areas of high social deprivation. Projects must be co-created, with young people’s voices at the heart of decision-making.

The Henry Smith Foundation Holiday Grants Programme
‘offers one-off grants for schools, youth groups and non-profit organisations to take children aged 13 and under on recreational day trips or short residential trips.’ Priority is given to disabled children and those in deprived areas. Grants range between £500 and £3,000.
- Applications for trips between 1 May and 30 September 2026 are open from 20 March and 19 August 2026.
- Applications for trips between 1 October and 31 December 2026 are open from 20 August and 19 November 2026.
The Democratic Engagement Fund
This fund will provide grants to civil society organisations operating in England to deliver politically neutral, place-based activities that help people understand, engage with, and participate in democracy. The Fund focuses on groups that are currently less democratically engaged and aims to generate evidence on what works to increase democratic participation, informing future policy and practice.
Most projects will receive around £25,000. The maximum award is £50,000 per project.

Tree Council
Grants to support the establishment of thousands of trees, orchards and hedgerows on streets, in parks, and in community and educational spaces are now available’.
- Branching Out - ‘Grants of between £250 and £2,500 for community groups, schools, small registered charities, and Tree Warden Networks (among others) – with a quicker decision for those seeking funding below £500.’ Deadline is Midnight, Sunday 19 July, or earlier if funding is fully allocated. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis – early applications are encouraged.
- Network Rail Community Tree Planting Fund - ‘Grants of between £2,500 and £10,000 for projects in England, Scotland and Wales. Open to a wide range of applicants, including local authorities, community groups and landowners.’ Deadline is Midnight, Sunday 19 July. A second round may open if funds remain, but this is not guaranteed. Please apply early to avoid missing out.
Rookery South Community Trust Fund
Grants are available for:
- Supporting sustainable waste management projects within the community
- Community energy generation projects
- Educational initiatives that relate to waste management or energy generation initiatives
- Other projects which are considered to promote the well-being of the community within the areas of benefit.
Not-for-profit organisations with projects located in the following Parishes: Ampthill; Brogborough; Cranfield; Houghton Conquest; Lidlington; Marston Moreteyne; Maulden; Millbrook; Stewartby and Wootton may apply for grants, subject to the Rookery South Community Trust Fund eligibility requirements.
There are two levels of grants available, and groups can apply for both revenue and capital costs in the same application:
- Small grants between £250 and £2,500 (c. 25% of total budget)
- Main grants between £2,501 and £10,000 (c. 75% of total budget)

National Lottery Awards for All England
‘We provide funding for projects that bring people together to build strong relationships and improve communities in England. You can apply for a grant of between £300 and £20,000 for projects lasting up to 2 years.’
You can use the funding to:
- start a new activity or continue an existing one
- help your organisation adapt to new challenges
We fund projects that:
- bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
- improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
- help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
- support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis
Tesco Fruit & Veg Grants
Tesco is offering grants of up to £1,500 for not-for-profit organisations working to improve children's access to nutritious food. Successful applications will be put to the public vote in local Tesco stores every three months. We particularly welcome applications from:
- Breakfast/after school clubs that provide fruit and veg for pupils
- Sports clubs that provide healthy food as part of the project or a much-needed halftime boost
- Growing initiatives to grow your own fruit and veg or cooking classes using the food to learn
Children’s Alliance – Water Activities Grants
Grants of up to £15,000 to deliver water‑based activities to children under 18 years old who do not have access to swimming lessons or water activities due to a lack of funding.

The Veterans’ Foundation provides grants to eligible organisations that provide assistance to serving and former members of the armed forces community, operational qualified seafarers and their immediate families.
Four funding programmes are available:
- Small Grants - £500 - £5,000
- Standard Grants - £5,001 - £30,000
- Salary Grants - Up to £25,000 per year for up to three years (Max £75,000)
- Major Grants - £200,000 - £500,000 (spread over one to two years)

The easyfundraising Impact Fund is offering 20 unrestricted grants of £500 to UK not-for-profit organisations. The grant is unrestricted, so it can be used wherever the money is needed most to support your work.
