The following volunteering opportunities were added to the CVS Simply Connect platform during December 2025

Bedford MS Therapy Centre

Oxygen Chamber Operator 

Chamber operators are trained in the operation of the chamber and the benefits of oxygen therapy. You will become part of our incredible team of volunteers that enable the Centre to deliver benefits to the local MS and Parkinson's communities helping them live their best life.

 

Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity

Digital Champion - Leighton Buzzard 

Digital Champions are people of all ages and from all backgrounds and communities.

They help others understand the benefits of using the internet and can show them how to do simple things online that can make a huge difference to people’s lives.

 

Carers in Bedfordshire

Memory Navigator

You will be part of our memory navigation team, providing telephone support 2- 4 hours per week and proactively calling people with dementia, people with memory concerns, and also carers of people with these conditions.


East Anglian Air Ambulance

Event Support Volunteer

We are regularly invited to attend events and they provide a great opportunity for us to talk about the work we do. We go to fetes, fairs and country shows, as well as carnivals and sporting events.
Speaker Volunteer

We need volunteers who enjoy speaking in public, are able to communicate clearly and who can inspire and motivate people to become supporters or even volunteers themselves.
Street and Store Bucket Collection Volunteer

We need you to be the face of EAAA and stand with our bucket, a smile and engage with passers-by. It’s a great opportunity to meet lots of new people, including other volunteers, and to help us raise vital funds.

Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire

Community and Education Volunteer 

Support our Community and Education team in their work to raise awareness of the rare and beautiful nature and wildlife found in Bedfordshire. We run various events and activities in Luton and Beds for many different groups, ages and abilities.
Practical Conservation Volunteer 

Join our weekly volunteering group in helping to manage our beautiful and varied nature reserves in Bedfordshire. Running Tuesday to Thursday, with occasional Saturdays, our volunteers help staff to repair fences, remove invasive species, cut back scrub clear paths to help ensure both people and wildlife can enjoy and thrive in nature.
Youth Ranger

Our Youth Rangers help us to look after various nature reserves by joining staff to carry out work like removing invasive species, cutting back scrub and monitoring wildlife. We also take time to enjoy these spaces by running nature walks and craft activities.

 

Embrace

Fundraising and Events 

We are looking for volunteers with a love for fundraising and events. You must enjoy building relationships and meeting people. Working individually and as a team with a positive commitment to the benefits successful events have to the wider community.

ACE Unlimited 

We combine exciting activities with life skills in order to achieve self-confidence in adulthood and independence.

Stampede & JJ's Crew 

Stampede (5-12) & JJ's Crew (13-17) are specialist youth clubs for young people with complex disabilities and a high level of medical need. Activities are fun and varied, ranging from arts & crafts, sports & games, cooking & nature activities, themed sessions, music & sensory play.

Trustee 

If you believe you could add value to our board of trustees, be an agent for change and/or bring an analytical approach to problem solving, we would love to hear from you. We have a couple of opportunities, not essential but to maintain our mix of skills it would be an added bonus if you have a background in people development, technology or legal.

 

Bedford Credit Union

Director

You will gain experience of sitting on a board of directors and help your community with banking services. We have a particular focus on those with lower incomes whose financial choices are limited.

 

Central Bedfordshire Council

Independent Appeal Panel Member 

As an impartial service provided to parents and schools, the role of the independent panel is to consider a parent or carer’s appeal, if their child is not offered a place at their preferred school.


Queensmen Youth FC

Kitchen Lead Helper

We currently have a small team that help in the kitchen on a rota basis, however we are looking for someone to over see the kitchen and our volunteers to ensure that health and safety and food hygiene standards are followed.

Grounds keeper

We are looking for someone with some free time who would like to help support our local youth grassroots football club in the heart of Ampthill. You will be working alongside a small team of volunteers on the up keep of the club's grounds and pitches.

 

NOAH Enterprise

SWEP Night Shelter Volunteer   

SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) night shelter volunteer will assist staff in providing a warm space for rough sleepers in the colder winter months.


Friends of Moorfields Eye Hospital

Moorfields Bedford Hospital Volunteers 

As a Friends of Moorfields volunteer, you'll be at the front-line of providing emotional and physical support to patients with visual impairment and to ensure Moorfields provide an excellent service.
