The following volunteering opportunities were added to the CVS Simply Connect platform during January 2025

101st Bedford (Kempston) Scout Group

Beaver Section Leader

Working as part of a team of adult volunteers to assist in the planning and delivery of an exciting programme of outdoor activities, crafts, community projects, games, challenges and even for many, their first night away from home at a beaver sleepover.

 

Addenbrookes Charitable Trust

Cheer Point Support for Cambridge half marathon

We are wanting lots of volunteers to help us at our cheer point to support our 200 fundraisers running for us in the Cambridge half marathon on 9th March from 8.30- 9am onwards.

 

Brickhill Good Neighbour Scheme

Good Neighbour Volunteer

It might be you're an IT guru, or brilliant at marketing, or have great interpersonal skills, or love to help with gardening, or a different strength we haven't thought of hat would be so helpful for someone.

Phone Holder for Good Neighbour Scheme

It involves answering calls (requests for help) on the dedicated Good Neighbour Scheme phone and co-ordinating with volunteers to find the right support.


Downside Pre-School

Trustee - Downside Pre-School CIO

This position is perfect for anyone who wants to contribute their time and expertise to benefit the community. You don’t need to be a parent with a child at the preschool—anyone with a passion for early years education and a desire to make a positive impact is welcome to apply.

 

Healthwatch Bedford Borough

Advisory Board Members 

If you would like to volunteer to join the Advisory Board of a long established independent public champion In Bedford Borough, whose role is to support improvements in NHS health services and social services then we would love to hear from you.

Community Outreach officers

The role involves collecting feedback about peoples experience of health and social care services including engaging peoples at various locations including hospitals, libraries, welcoming spaces, community centers etc.

listen and observe peoples experiences of health and social care services to understand what is working well and what can be improved

Healthwatch Bedford Borough

Youth Ambassador

Ensure that young peoples voices are heard and help to influence change to make health and social care services better for children and young people

 

Ladybird Forest Pre-School Ampthill

Trustee 

At Ladybird Forest Pre-School, we provide much valued Early Years care and education to the community of Ampthill, Bedfordshire and are rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted. We are looking for a Chair to lead our Board of Directors.

 

National Animal Welfare Trust

Shop Volunteer

Assisting the Shop Manager to make changes to the shop layout and create exciting window displays, handling transactions and steaming clothes

 

The Good Gym

GoodGym Bedford Member

GoodGym Luton Member

GoodGym members get fit by doing good in the community. Using the Goodgym website to find sessions that suit them, they sign up and join sessions around town with other members, getting fit together, contributing to community projects and building positive feelings around town.

GoodGym Bedford Taskforce 

GoodGym Luton Taskforce

TaskForce are volunteer co-ordinators within Goodgym who give a little extra time to help setup and support sessions and build community.

 

Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre

Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre Tea Room Volunteer Assistant

Welcome customers, serve them & assist with tea room duties.

 

Living It Up

Gig Buddy

Stay Up Late started a project called Gig Buddies, we host the Bedford project of this, which matches up volunteers to people with a learning disability and/or autism to go to gigs and other events together in Bedford.

Gr8 Mates Support Volunteer

GR8 Mates is a service that supports adults with learning disabilities and /or autism to socialise, make friends and/or romantic relationships.

Event Supporter

To provide support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities at bi monthly nightclub and gig style events held at various locations around Bedford.

 

TCV Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire Environmental Action Team member

Our Environmental Action Team goes out every day from Monday to Friday to tackle practical conservation activities around Bedfordshire and the surrounding area. You might be planting trees, clearing ponds, managing meadows and lots more.

 

NOAH Enterprise

Classroom assistant

Do you like meeting new people and have a willingness to help. Noah are looking for classroom assistants in Bedford, Dunstable, and Luton. This role is for YOU if you are reliable and punctual and enjoy supporting adults in a learning environment.
