The following volunteering opportunities were added to the CVS Simply Connect platform during October 2024.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service

Home Safety Centre Assistant

Our Home Safety Centre at Luton Fire Station is set up with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. It's visited by various groups of people who enjoy a safety talk before being escorted around the rooms, using their newly acquired knowledge to spot lots of different hazards.

 

Canine Partners

Volunteer Photographer

Adhoc photoshoots which will primarily be based at our National Training Centre but may also be on location. Opportunity to photograph newborn litters, dogs in training and partnerships as well as event photography.

 

East London NHS Foundation Trust

Volunteer Assistant for Podiatry- Dunstable

Volunteer Assistant for Podiatry- Kempston

East London NHS Foundation Trust is looking for trustworthy and enthusiastic volunteers to support podiatry clinics in the area. Podiatry is a medical specialty dealing with diagnosis and treatment of the foot and lower limb.

 

Embrace

Office Support

We are looking for someone to help in a back office capacity. We have been expanding our services due to increased need and now the admin side of things need to catch up.

Toy Library Assistant

The Toy Library is open on a Friday during term time. It is based in the Child Development Centre (CDC), Kempston and run by Embrace. It is a collection of specialist toys for families in Bedfordshire to borrow.

 

Hospital Radio Bedford

IT officer

To be able to work in a radio environment uploading prerecorded presenter programs. To be competent in Windows, Websites and radio servers. To be able to attend Outside Broadcasts within Bedford

Program Manager

To work with presenters and other departments to produce an exciting assortment of programs throughout the day

Social Media Officer

If you are a Social Media or have been involved in a Social Media role HRB are looking for you to help us connect with more listeners from Bedford and Beyond

 

INTERSECTIONALITY WOMENS PROGRAMMES CIC

Fundraising Officer

To create and assist with the development of a fundraising plan for the Intersectionality womens Programmes CIC.

Social Media and Marketing Officer

Social Media/content creator will be responsible for creating social media campaigns and managing IWPs' social media content day-to-day.

Administrator

The volunteer will play a key role in coordinating and developing the administrative functions of the Intersectionality Women’s Programmes CIC. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing various aspects of volunteer activities and supporting the organisation’s mission.

 

King's Arms Project

Winter Nightshelter Shift Volunteer

We need 100 people to volunteer for either morning, evening, or sleep-in-support shifts at the shelter, over the 14 weeks we will be open. You can volunteer for one evening a week or more, or less. We’re happy to have a conversation to consider your availability.

Office Administrator

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience while contributing to our community. As a volunteer, you will support various administrative tasks across the team.

 

One YMCA

RAF Henlow Airplay Volunteer Youth Worker

To support the provision of the Airplay and Ben Club activities and workshops

 

Sue Ryder St John's Hospice

One-off Fundraising Event Volunteer for "Big Dip" event

Supporting members of our fundraising team with various tasks such as stewarding and refreshments on the day of our 'Big Dip' fundraising event on Sunday 1 December 2024.

One-Off Fundraising Event Volunteer Role 

Supporting our fundraising team to distribute leaflets advertising our 'Treecycle' event and Christmas bucket donations collections at Cardington Road Tesco, Bedford on Saturday 14 December 2024 or at Riverfield Drive Tesco, Bedford on Thursday 19 December 2024.
