Get on board with CPRE
Save our green spaces!
At CPRE Bedfordshire we’re passionate about making the countryside a better place for everyone to enjoy. We inspire people to care for the countryside and enjoy the benefits it brings wherever they live.
Joining our board is a fantastic way to help champion environmental issues such as the climate emergency, renewable energy, biodiversity and sustainable transport and to protect the green spaces we love from over development. As a trustee you’ll have an essential role in contributing towards the direction of our charity help to provide continuity, govern the charity and guide our future work. A number of our Trustees are retiring and we are keen to get some new trustees with fresh ideas and diverse skills on our board.
“As a CPRE Bedfordshire Trustee I enjoy being part of a likeminded group helping to protect and enhance our beautiful Bedfordshire countryside: the work we do is always varied and interesting and I feel we can help to make a difference, at a time when our countryside, environment and wildlife are under unprecedented pressures.” Mary Walsh, CPRE Bedfordshire Trustee.
You will be mostly home-based, carrying out activities around your other commitments and attending meetings either virtually or at our office in Bedford. Weekly hours vary depending on the role but will include attendance at six meetings per year and the Annual General Meeting.

Secretary of CPRE Bedfordshire
As secretary you’ll ensure the effective administration of our Executive Committee and potentially provide advice on governance issues. The Committee meet every two months (virtually at the moment) and we need someone to plan meeting dates, send out notifications, minutes and other papers. At meetings you will take minutes and ensure all actions and decisions are accurately recorded.
We are keen to hear from people with knowledge related to the environment, nature conservation and biodiversity, climate change or farming or with skills in strategic management and income generation. As a trustee you’ll have an essential role in contributing towards the direction of our charity. Trustees also help to provide continuity, govern the charity and guide our future work.
