Volunteering Tips: The Volunteer Bank

03 May 2022
Tips on how to get the best out of our volunteering service.

If you are registered with our Simply Connect Volunteer platform, you may have seen that you can opt into the Volunteer Bank within your account.   If you do not have an account yet, and would like help signing up to Simply Connect then do contact us by emailing volunteering@cvsbeds.org.uk or calling 01234 354366. You can use Simply Connect to register your interest in a whole range of opportunities across Bedfordshire, but did you know that charities who have opportunities with us can also use Simply Connect to search for suitable volunteers?

Find out more about this here.

What does opting in mean?

Opting in to our Volunteer Bank means organisations can approach you.

You will be identified as a potential candidate to organisations for their volunteering roles, based upon the activities you want to do and your availability.

An organisation may then choose to contact you through Simply Connect to invite you to apply for their roles.

An organisation will only be able to see the following information about you:

  • your name,
  • first part of your postcode,
  • skills,
  • interests,
  • activities,
  • your personal profile,
  • your availability.

They will not be able to view your contact details, photograph (if provided) or any other details - these are only available to staff at CVS with an administrator login.

Should you decide to accept a role being offered then your contact details will be shared with the organisation you are in dialogue with.

By ticking the Volunteer Bank opt in box you give permission for your information to be used in this way, in Simply Connect.

You can opt in and out of the Volunteer Bank by updating your Profile.
