Understanding the GDPR
- Monday 23 April 2018
- 13:00 - 15:30
- 43 Bromham Rd, Bedford MK40 2AA
What is the workshop about?
The new European General Regulation on Data Protection takes effect in May 2018. Organised in partnership with CVS Bedfordshire, this workshop looks at what the GDPR means for organisations and what they need to do as a result.
What will it cover?
The workshop will look at what the GDPR does; and how it will change current UK data protection law. It will consider the effect these changes might have on VCSE and other third sector organisations; and how organisations can collect and process data in relation to their key stakeholders. The emphasis will be on the steps needed to comply with the GDPR.
- Have improved understanding of the data protection principles.
- Be aware of their organisation’s duties, and the steps needed to ensure compliance with data protection law.
- Be more confident in applying best practice to data protection.
The workshop will be run by David Green, director of Green Pepper Consulting. David has many years of experience dealing with employment relations, employment law and management issues, including in the area of data protection. He is also the trustee lead on data protection for a Leicestershire charity.
