The Academy of Social Work and Early Intervention Training Offer

The Academy of Social Work and Early Intervention (The Academy) at Central Bedfordshire Council offers training and qualifications to Bedfordshire’s children’s workforce.  Most qualifications are delivered ‘on-the-job’ and offer flexible starts.


Future training courses are as follows:

Early Help Standards - New dates released for May and November
This is the perfect pathway to ensure your practice meets Local Government expectations in the care and support you provide for our more vulnerable families This course is still free of charge. For more information click here.

Level 4 Award in Work with Parents - Starts 20 April
If you are working with families who have multiple and complex needs, this Level 4 will help you provide sustained intensive support to help ensure the best outcomes are reached. For more information click here.

Level 3 Award in Learning & Development - Starts October
Similar to ‘Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Sector’ , this award is ideal if you wish to work in a learning and development role. Perhaps you already deliver training or have aspirations to be an assessor or mentor. For more information click here.

CYPOP 6 - Support Disabled Children and Young People and those with Specific Needs - starts in May.
Make sure you are doing all you can for your SEND Children especially if you’re working 1:1  The is the perfect opportunity to further your knowledge in this specialist area. For more information click here

Citizens Advice Luton have a vacancy for a part-time telephone assessor. Closing date 29 January.


Central Bedfordshire Council Community Grant Scheme is Open
The scheme is now open for submission of grant applications, Funding is to support Central Bedfordshire Residents with the aim of avoiding unneccessary hospital/institutional care admissions. Applications for grant funding to be submitted by Friday 16 February.
